Flooding in Kendal

It's a bit wet up there. The cottage where we stayed is not actually in the flood warning area, but it is very, very close to it ....

ETA: It's not our cottage: we stayed there for two weeks in the summer (and took the photo, which is my current blog-header).

Hi, just wanted to say its where we stayed in the summer, not where we live.

Thank you for your warm wishes Penny. It is certainly bad news for us here in poor old Cumbria. The north of the county is worst hit but many towns and villages in the south are cut off, schools are closed and shops shut. Thankfully I live on the side of a hill! 12 inches of rain (30cm) in one day is horrendous and it continues to rush down from the surrouding hills filling the valleys. More rain is forecast so its not over yet.
